Sunday marked two years since we arrived in Portugal to start our lives in the country we have loved for so many years! We remember it like it was yesterday - arriving in a 42 degree heatwave, with the realisation that we had finally taken the leap.
There was a mixture of nervous excitement, and complete giddiness! This idea was something we had spoken about for so long, and we were almost proud that we had been brave enough to leave our successful careers in retail and broadcasting to try something completely new.
We are so happy with what we have achieved in our two years. We now have our beautiful rental property Casa Castaway, which has already had a very successful first summer. We are well underway with our restoration project Casa Carro - otherwise known as Ronnie the Renault! We are also in the process of working on the next phase of Castaway Portugal - more on that later this year.
We recently featured a blog post about the LX Factory in Lisbon, and when we were there we read a fantastic quote in a piece of street art - "The dream starts where the dreamer stands." We are definitely living the dream!
